I have been living in Southern California for almost a year now, but I do not forget the fun of the Lower Russian River... or its geography, architecture, and engineering.
If you look carefully at the Google map on the home page, there is a bridge that starts at the beginning of the Rio Theater, heads south, then disappears into the Monte Rio Beach.
But wait! All is not lost!
It reappears midstream, about 50 feet downstream from where it sank into the sand. I remember driving across that bridge countless times, and never got buried in sand, or soaking wet.
I guess things that traumatic get lost from one's memory...
